It’s been almost 11 months now since I started working at Do It Up. I’ve been a part of so many events from birthdays to anniversaries, movie nights to date nights.. My personal favorites are proposals and surprise parties! I find it adorable when people put an effort to make someone happy with beautiful gestures! I feel grateful to be a tiny part of their big plan and help them make an impression.
One of the most memorable set-ups I did was at Ghatkopar in the month of December, it was not only a surprise setup but it was also my first setup as a designer at Do It Up!
I was extremely excited and nervous at the same time, and so was the client (haha).. She was planning a surprise for her fiancé, it was a date night setup at her terrace. We reached the location 2 hours early (as planned) to finish the setup in time. She was vey sweet, she had his favorite food ordered, everything was almost ready and then the bell rang! It was her fiancé who got home an HOUR early! She panicked and so did we. She ran down to stall him as we rushed to finish the setup in the next 15 minutes!
Now the only issue was to get out of the house without her fiancé having the slightest clue, we didn’t want to spoil the surprise after all! So as I texted her that we’re done, she said ‘I’m going to take him to the balcony while you quickly rush down the stairs and get out through the main door’ Her mum kept thanking us for doing a beautiful setup and finishing it in time.. As we rushed down with all our empty boxes, I remember seeing them standing in the balcony looking outside, we were right behind them! It took us 5 minutes and we were out of the house. Phew! At the end it was a mission very well accomplished!
